Copenhagen Hotels and Copenhagen Accommodation
(Copenhagen, Denmark, DK)
Known for its regular conventions and endless visitors, if you arrive in Copenhagen during one of these busy events, you will find that accommodation is both scarce and expensive. If you have chosen not to book a hotel ahead of your arrival in Copenhagen in the busy months, you will be taking a chance, so make sure you allow plenty of time to search for suitable lodging.
However, at other times when conventions are not taking place, find a room in one of the city's many hotels will be much less of a challenge and the staff at the Copenhagen tourist office, on Bernstorffsgade, will be happy to help you to find accommodation. This includes rooms in a number of private houses around the city of Copenhagen, and some surprisingly big hotel discounts, according to season and demand. This accommodation booking service is available throughout the year on weekdays, and also on Saturdays from May to August.
Copenhagen Hotels and Accommodation: Where to Stay - Copenhagen, Denmark, DK
The main hotel quarter in Copenhagen lies to the the west of Central Station, and also this is also the city's red-light district, this area is by no means seeds or unpleasant, and conveniently close to the very heart of the city. Many tall and historic hotels are clustered in this area and date from the beginning of the 20th century.
Nearby and right next to the Central Station, this area is crammed with mid-range accommodation, although few of these hotels could be described as 'budget'. If price is a limiting factor, consider staying at one of Copenhagen's three HI hostels. However, since these do fill up quickly in the summer months, you may need to stay at a city-sponsored hostel instead.
Further afield and yet still close to central Copenhagen, hotels are also to be found around the neighbourhoods of Nyhavn, Radhuspladsen and Vesterbro. If you are looking for lodging close to the airport, then the Hilton Copenhagen Airport is worth considering.
This accommodation is located on the Ellehammersvej and boasts almost 400 guest rooms, together with super-stylish Bang & Olufsen televisions, a large pool and good conference facilities.
